Here at Mantra the Observatory, we are committed to promoting sustainability across every facet of our daily operations. From the 230 solar panels on our roof to the removal of single use plastics, we will continually strive to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. Below are some of the initiatives we have implemented to date.
Our ongoing commitment to reducing single-use plastics now is reflected in our guest rooms. From eliminating single use dry amenities and having items available at reception for guests on request is helping us to reduce our environmental footprint and becoming a plastic-free environment. We have also removed physical hotel compendiums in our guest rooms and replaced them with an online version, accessible with a QR code.
As part of our ongoing efforts, we have made the proactive decision to replace our single-use plastic bathroom amenities with eco-friendly pump dispensers throughout the hotel. By eliminating single-use plastic bottles, we are significantly reducing the amount of waste generated by our operations. This commitment aligns with our dedication to environmental stewardship and reflects our ongoing efforts to improve sustainability in all aspects of our hotel.
At Mantra the Observatory, all hotel waste is separated into co-mingle, cardboard, food waste and general waste, minimising our impact on landfill. In addition, we have taken a number of steps to further reduce water and embrace a circular system.
We are committed to maintaining strong connections with our local community and give back wherever possible.
At Mantra the Observatory, we acknowledge the Birpai people, the traditional owners of the land on which we work and live, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and communities.
At Mantra the Observatory we welcome all guests and strive to do our best to accommodate our guest’s needs. We don't currently offer dedicated accessible rooms, but our larger apartments can provide the space and comfort needed to enjoy a memorable stay.
We have available on request for guest accessibility items, such as a shower chair or a ramp to make movement in rooms more accessible. If we don't have an item, we work with a local provider and are able to order an item in for a guest. In addition, we offer 2 designated accessible car spaces in our carpark and the team are available to assist with luggage up to rooms.
Our team are trained to be able to offer advice on the best room types available for guests with diverse needs, we understand the importance of all guests feeling comfortable in their home away from home. Furthermore, assistance animals are always welcome at Mantra the Observatory.
